In our bookshop on Lavitt’s Quay in Cork, our book shelves and bargain tables are groaning with books from all genres at unbelievable prices. We are passionate book lovers and take pride to provide you with something just a little bit different than what’s on offer in the big chain bookshops.

Make your choice from our extensive range of cooking books. Bring the kids for a wander in our children books section. Or pick from a great selection of travel books that includes the destination you’re heading for. You’re guaranteed to find a book to suit any taste, and any price range.

If you can’t find the book you came in for, our friendly staff will do all they can to hunt it down for you. If we are unable to find it, we can recommend another equally enthralling read. And if that doesn’t do the trick, we can order a book especially for you. We’ll give you a call when it has arrived and there’s no postage cost if you choose to pick it up from the shop.

And while you’re browsing for books, why not check out our latest gift items? Like a funky mug for yourself or a card for that special someone else. We won’t chase you if you spend ages inside our cosy shop, unless it’s closing time. But don’t worry, because we’re open 7 days a week.

We also buy and sell second hand books in our dedicated used book section. We have a large choice of previously read literary and non fiction titles as well as a great range of sci-fi and crime novels. And we always do our best to track down good secondhand copies of rare books that are out of print or hard to find. So pop in and bring your old books along and take some new ones home with you.

Everyone is welcome to join our free Book Club. We organise reading groups for teenagers and young children on several Saturday mornings during the year, plus a monthly adult book club.
