Vibes & Scribes is Cork city’s premier purveyor of all things book and craft related - from wool, fabric and art materials to new and bargain books.
We have three city centre locations - our wool, fabric and crafting supplies shop on Bridge Street and our two bookstores on Lavitt’s Quay. All of our shops are busy and fast-paced environments.
Unfortunately, we do not hire part-time or seasonal staff.
Extensive training is provided and there are opportunities for advancement.

We are currently looking to fill two positions with our retail team in our Bridge Street shop.

Retail Sales Assistant (Fabric Department)
Do you love all things sewing?
We’re looking for a real fabric-fan to join our retail team on a full-time, permanent basis. You must be able to commit to working 5 days a week (including weekends). Extensive training will be provided.
You are/have:

- A competent knowledge and love of sewing, quilting, dressmaking, etc.
- Able to work as part of a team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Experience in a customer service position and are enthusiastic about helping customers find what they need.
- Able to give advice or suggestions about products and ways to use them.
- Flexible, motivated, hard-working and adaptable to change.
- Able to commit to the hours outlined above.
- Picking online orders is also a key part of this role and there is manual handling involved, when new deliveries arrive in store.

We’re looking for an avid knitter/crocheter to join our retail team on a full-time, permanent basis. You must be able to commit to working 5 days a week (including weekends). Extensive training will be provided.
