Are artists mere mortals like the rest of us, or is there something in thier DNA that marks them out as diferent? Is it necessary for creative people to live isolated lives, away from the distractions of the city? What is it about the west coast of Ireland that is so attractive to artists? Why would anyone choose to live in an environment renowned for it's wild, wet and windy weather if there was a choice to live somewhere else? 

These are the questions Deirdre Davys was asking herself one wet summer on Achill Island. Travelling along the west coast of Ireland before, between and after the various Covid lockdowns, Deirdre chatted with artists to find out what makes them tick - what keeps them on the Wild Atlantic Way.
