Description

Contents: EVA foam self-adhesive sheets and stars, rubber bands, plastic beads, metal paper, glitter paper and hard foil..

Materials kit for making a fun kaleidoscope with glitter paper and colourful beads. The packaging is used for the kaleidoscope. Add your own empty toilet roll. Instructions included.

In addition to the materials in the kit, you will also need the tube from a toilet roll and a pair of scissors. At one end: Fold the foil mirror paper into a triangle and place it inside the tube. Cut out a circle of self-adhesive EVA foam and attach it so it seals the tube end. At the other end: Cut out a circle of transparent hard foil and stick it inside the tube. Place beads in the tube and seal up the end with the plastic packaging and elastic bands. The patterns are formed when you turn the kaleidoscope. Finally, decorate the tube with glitter paper and glitter stars..

The idea behind this kit/material set is to inspire children to 'get creative with recycling' and reuse empty packaging, both from their home (such as toilet rolls, milk cartons, egg boxes etc.) and the set's own packaging, and use their creativity and imaginations to transform the 'waste' into fun figures. Through the creative process and subsequent play, this kit provides the perfect opportunity to talk and learn about how we can recycle. The children learn that by being creative and using your imagination, you can transform ordinary household waste and basic crafting materials into new things, including fantastic figures, toys and so on. This inspires children to see things in new ways and continue to reuse other items creatively rather than throwing them away.
