Step 1.

Use 250 grams of pure paraffin wax and 1/2 gram of candle dye for each colour on these candles. Measure out the wax and candle dye and pour paraffin wax into its own glass. Be aware that paraffin should fill approximately half of the glass.

Step 2.

Melt the paraffin wax in a water bath at medium heat, but avoid boiling the water.

Step 3.

Remove the pan from the hob when the wax has melted and has a temperature of approx. 65–70 degrees. Place the pan on a trivet.

window.SHOGUN_IMAGE_V2_ELEMENTS = window.SHOGUN_IMAGE_V2_ELEMENTS || new Array(); window.SHOGUN_IMAGE_V2_ELEMENTS.push({ uuid: 's-db0b4bff-42be-42b4-8afb-3a5d831e6b67' })

Step 4.

Now, pour in the candle dye.

Step 3.

Stir the waxd and together until the and dye together until the dye has completely dissolved. Use a 30 cm-thick plant support stick for stirring if you need to.

Step 4.

Now, place the glass at an angle in the pan and dip the candle into the wax for approx. 5-10 seconds. To create more effects, you can turn the candle around in the wax.

Step 3.

Allow the candles to dry for approx. 2 minutes. Use a bucket or similar so that the candles can stand without the colour being marked.

window.SHOGUN_IMAGE_V2_ELEMENTS = window.SHOGUN_IMAGE_V2_ELEMENTS || new Array(); window.SHOGUN_IMAGE_V2_ELEMENTS.push({ uuid: 's-b3e000c1-eb5a-4680-a93a-2156a990f8c5' })

Step 4.

Place the glass upright and then dip the candle again. You should only dip it to about half the depth it was dipped before, so the colour becomes light at the top and gets darker further down. Feel free to dip several times. Remember that the wax needs to dry between dippings.

Step 5.

Add more candle dye for a more intense colour. Here you can see the difference between 1 gram and a 1/2 gram of dye for 250 grams of paraffin wax.
