Easter Garland - Step by Step Guide

Make this lovely Easter garland from using Hama beads in a range of different colours! This project is ideal for children and allows them to think creatively about colour and shapes. Create an Easter chick, an Easter bunny, Easter eggs and flowers. All the figures are made from a mix of Hama fuse beads in a mix of bright colours. The flowers and the Easter bunnies are decorated with glued-on pom-poms to add an extra bit of sparkle to your Easter celebrations!

Step by Step

Step 1.

Create your flowers to begin with.

Lay out your flower designs in the colours and flower shapes of your choice. Make sure to lay your Hama beads on your peg board and that the beads are in spaces next to each other.

Create flowers of different sizes to add interest.

We will attach the pom poms in a later step.

Step 2.

Next we will create the Easter bunnies.

Use the picture above as a guide using the colours of your choice. Make sure to lay the Hama beads out on your peg board and that the beads are in spaces next to each other. We will attach the pompoms for their tails at a later stage.

You can also use this board to create some carrots for the Easter bunnies.

Step 3.

Next we will create the Easter chicks.

Use the picture above as a guide using the colours of your choice. Make sure to lay the Hama beads out on your peg board and that the beads are in spaces next to each other. You can make more than one chick on your peg board if you have space.

Step 4.

We will now create our Easter eggs.

Lay out your egg designs in the colours and flower shapes of your choice. Make sure to lay your Hama beads on your peg board and that the beads are in spaces next to each other.

Create eggs of different sizes, colours and patterns to add interest.

Step 5.

Place a piece of ironing paper or baking paper on top of the beads and iron them together with an iron.

Do a small test beforehand as the temperature varies from one iron to another.

Iron the beads so that they lightly melt together and then remove the baking paper. Once the beads have cooled, remove them from the peg boards.

Step 6.

Assemble the garland by passing a thread through the middle fuse beads of the figures.

Add the pom-poms by threading them onto the thread between two Nabbi fuse bead figures.

Attach the pompoms to your Easter bunnys and flowers using a hot glue gun.
